REMONDIS launches subsidiary in India.

Lünen Germany/Mumbai India. Following final negotiations in April 2009, the German water management company REMONDIS Aqua International GmbH has launched REMONDIS Aqua (India) Private Ltd., a 100% subsidiary, based in Pune, an industrial centre of 4 million people in the Indian federal state of Maharashtra, about 200 km east of Mumbai.
  
The company successfully entered the expanding Indian water market through the acquisition of Shrushti Consultants, a local company which has long since been successful in providing and operating water supply and treatment plants for the Indian industry. As part of the acquisition of Shrushti, REMONDIS not only takes on the 100 employees but also 11 existing management contracts for water treatment plants in the Maharashtra region of which 9 are for well-known industrial clients and 2 for municipal water supply, waste water collection and disposal. 

The Indian REMONDIS subsidiary appointed Dr. Lars Meierling and Dennis Pulimittathu as managing directors. They are joined by the former Shrushti director Mukund Dhadge.

Dennis Pulimittathu emphasises the new subsidiary's importance for REMONDIS Aqua's further strategic growth: "With the launch of REMONDIS Aqua India we have created a solid basis for further expansion in one of the fastest growing regions in the world. The dynamics of the Indian market promises outstanding opportunities in the future, particularly in the industrial water supply and waste water treatment sector. In the long term, it may even be possible to expand the business to include waste management."
